For thirty years Republicans have controlled the Pennsylvania State Senate, blocking progress on issues that would help working Pennsylvanians. Democrats are just three seats away from flipping the state senate and establishing a trifecta. The path to that trifecta runs through State Senate District 6. Eileen Hartnett Albillar is running for this seat, which covers the part of Bucks County north of Philadelphia.

Eileen shared who she is and what motivates her to run at our August 6 all-member zoom meeting: In these difficult times when the high cost of living is "crushing" people, Eileen wants to use her wide-ranging social work experience and perspective for the people of Pennsylvania.

Eileen told us, "The bulk of my career has been helping people move from poverty to economic self-sufficiency." She's worked on government and nonprofit programs providing homeless services, food security, job development and placement, transportation needs and home weatherization. As a trained advocate, problem solver and listener, she is uniquely qualified to help people at the state level.

Let's help elect Eileen to the PA State Senate so she can fight for fully funded schools, affordable health care, public transportation, and an economy that works for working families. A brand new caller came to States Win South Bay's phonebank on August 8. Our student intern went through the training with her and the new phonebanker said it was terrific. Then she listened to an experienced phonebanker make calls. Now she feels "well prepared and good to go." Give it try!
