Phonebank for Darrin Camilleri (MI SD4) and
Ryan Spaude (WI AD89)

Come to a South Bay phonebank on Saturdays, 12pm - 2pm PT! You can join us either in Mountain View or from your home on Zoom. We're calling voters in Michigan and Wisconsin. Remember, you use your own laptop, not your phone and personal phone number.

No experience is needed. We will provide training and a supportive team environment. Let's win this together!

Dem Candidates Suffer from Ballot Roll-off
But Calling Voters Can Reduce It

Calling Dem voters is the most effective remote tool we have to boost voting by Dems in state legislative races, where Dem candidates often experience ballot roll-off.

What is ballot roll-off and why does it matter? Ballot roll-off is when a voter ticks only the box for the top race such as Congress, Senator or Governor. Dems often don't bother to vote for positions further down the ballot such as state legislators.

How much does ballot roll-off affect election outcomes? A lot! In 2020 Dems would have gained control of 14 more chambers in nine states if they had been able to increase their votes by less than 2%. And those votes could have come from people who were already voting for Democrats at the top of the ticket!

Does calling Dem voters reduce ballot roll-off? Yes. When we phonebankers tell voters about the candidate's achievements and priorities, they are more likely to vote. Why? Because they know about the candidate, they feel more confident that they can make an informed choice down-ballot.

And when voters want to know more, we ask the campaign to contact them directly. In our three Saturday phonebanks to date, we've met 42 voters who wanted more information about the candidate and 12 voters who would consider supporting the campaign locally. Let's help our candidates connect with voters!
